Introducing Lottiefiles for After Effects v4

In this release, we’re thrilled to announce LottieFiles for Adobe After Effects v4.0.0, packed with exciting updates to make animation creation and exporting even more powerful, including inserting Lottie animations to After Effects.

First, exporting from After Effects as Lottie now supports:

  • Single Matte Layer

  • Expressions

  • Time Remap

  • Bulk Rendering

  • Matte Mask

  • Gradients

Additionally, we’re launching a beta version of Import tab, also known as Lottie to AE! This feature enables you to not only import Lottie JSON assets, but also SVG files directly into Adobe After Effects. You can now seamlessly bring a variety of animations into After Effects alive, enhancing flexibility and speed of your motion design workflow.

Please note that Lottie to AE is in beta period, some features might not work as expected, including gradients in color values and complex SVG files have limited support at this time.

Rendering animations is now significantly faster, and we’ve added an easier way to select and test background colors for your previews too.

🎉 What's new
  • Added support for exporting Single Matte Layer, Expressions, Time Remap, Bulk Rendering, Matte Mask, and Gradients

  • Beta release of the Import tab for SVG and Lottie JSON assets

🔧 Improvements
  • Faster animation rendering speeds

  • Simplified background color picker for preview testing

🪲 Bug fixes
  • Various bugs have been fixed to improve performance and reliability
